Why use a toxin free nail polish?
Although not required to sport a warning label, the average store shelf nail polish contains chemicals that can result in numerous health risks and concerns. This average nail polish contains at least these four:
1) Dibutyl phthalate – use of this toxin in cosmetics is not restricted and can lead to liver and kidney failure in young children.
2) Formaldehyde – in concentrations of ~5% in your nail polish, it is a known human carcinogen (cancer causing)
3) Toluene – as a mild skin irritant it can cause dermatitis, effect the central nervous system (headache & drowsiness) and irritate respiratory organs.
4) BHA – used as a preservative; it is a known carcinogen and can interfere with natural endocrine function and hormones.
